ITANAGAR: Refuting any political agenda behind the agitation against the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, president of Arunachal Against Corruption (AAC) Tarh Tahar has said that the organization is ready to face any legal consequences if Pema Khandu files a case in connection to the ongoing agitation and series of corruption charges.

AAC has accused Chief Minister Khandu of mismanagement of Rs 142 crore under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana.

Earlier, while responding to the allegation, Khandu had told the media that it is a mere attempt to defame his Government and he will soon file a case against the organization.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, the AAC president said that if the Chief Minister is clean then he should morally resign from his chair and let the investigation agency conduct a free and fair investigation. If there is nothing wrong, then he can regain his chair later, Tahar said.

He further claimed that the AAC is ready to face any legal battle.

"We have all the documents of corruption charges against the incumbent CM. He should publicly declare that all the corruption charges are false and he is ready to be investigated by any agency," Tahar added.

Tahar also said that the Chief Minister should be questioned like any other political leader being investigated by the CBI and ED to unearth the truth.

Earlier on the day, the All Arunachal Pradesh Abotani Students' Union (AAPATSU) led by its president Langpu Apon also visited the AAC members and assured to extend all possible support during the agitation.

Apon further urged the members of AAC not to retreat from their movement and fight till the end against corruption. He also alleged that the present State Government is adamant against hearing any voice of the common public.

"For the last many months, AAPATSU is also demanding the cancellation of Non-APST from Panchayati Raj, but the Government is not in the mood to do anything for the welfare of the State," he said.

Last Sunday, as a part of their protest, members of AAC shaved off their hair and claimed that if the Government won't respond to their demands, the team will move to Delhi.
