Bhalukpong: The Bhalukpong police apprehended Guarav Sarkar and Pritam Sarkar on Tuesday, recovering 26 plastic vials containing 3.9 grams of suspected heroin during a vehicle check at the Bhalukpong check gate.

Acting on a tip-off regarding an Assam-registered vehicle transporting narcotics, police intercepted a Max Pickup vehicle with registration number NO-AS05AC-5119 at the check gate. The accused individuals are residents of Sonitpur district, Assam. During the search, police recovered 26 plastic vials containing 3.9 grams of suspected heroin.

A case has been registered under Sections 21A/25 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Bhalukpong Police Station. The investigation is currently underway.

This operation aligns with the state police’s commitment to combating drug trafficking under the “Operation Dawn” initiative.

The operation was conducted under the constant guidance of Pawan Kumar Yadav, SDPO Bhalukpong, and the overall supervision of Sudhanshu Dhama, SP Bomdila, with the active participation of Tsering Dorjee, Inspector HC G. Desisow, HC K. Mamai, Ct T. Natung, and Ct Govind Naloiju.
