ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen K T Parnaik on Tuesday extended his heartfelt greetings to the people of the state on the eve of the Nyokum festival, which will be celebrated on Wednesday.

Expressing his best wishes, the governor hoped that the festival would bring joy, harmony, and renewed strength to the bonds that unite people as one vibrant community.

Parnaik highlighted that Nyokum, one of the most widely celebrated festivals in the state, beautifully reflects the treasured traditions and values of the Nyishi community. He emphasized that the vibrant celebrations of Nyokum Yullo provide an opportunity to showcase the moral heritage, social values, and cultural diversity that make Arunachal Pradesh unique.

“This cherished festival of the Nyishi community stands as a testament to the rich and vibrant cultural heritage of our beloved state. As we come together to celebrate, I am confident that the youth, community leaders, and esteemed members of the Nyishi community will continue to play a vital role in preserving and promoting this invaluable cultural legacy for generations to come,” he said.

The Governor also joined the Nyishi community in offering prayers to Nyokum Ane, seeking her divine blessings for peace, prosperity, and well-being for all.
