ITANAGAR: The Capital Police arrested a person identified as Takoni Dodum for cheating and not adhering to government orders. The action was taken following a complaint that he was using a cell phone while appearing in the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) examination held at Dera Natung Government College (DNGC) recently.

The police also arrested Sunny Dodum (38) and Niyaz Ahmed (31) for helping Takoni Dodum, who was appearing for the examination for the post of Supervisor.

Sunny and Ahmed were sending solved answers through WhatsApp and call. All the accused confessed to their involvement. However, they were later released on bail.

ICR Superintendent of Police (SP) Jimmy Chiram told the reporters that, following the written complaint received from the examination superintendent, Takoni Dodum was arrested.

He added that during the investigation it was found that Sunny Dodum, while telling the answers through a call, Niyaz Ahmed was helping to get answers from Google. The police have also seized other proofs of their involvement during the investigation.

"The police are also looking into the jammers set in the examination centre, to verify why it didn't work. Though there is no doubt of the question paper being leaked by the accused, however, every angle is looked into in further investigation, he added.

He said that the uninterrupted two hours conversation despite heavy jammers in the examination hall is a serious question. The police seized 28 Jammer from APSSB office, Itanagar and also one Pen-drive containing video recording of camera from the examination hall.

"The police on duty are also being interrogated, if found guilty, the law will take its own course of action," he said.
