Itanagar: Reinforcing the importance of cleanliness and a drug-free society, the regional office of the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) here, organized a special outreach programme at Deepak Nabam Living Home here, on Friday. The event focused on raising awareness about the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, encouraging the community to embrace a cleaner and healthier lifestyle.

The programme began with a Swachhta drive, where the inmates of Deepak Nabam Living Home actively participated in cleaning their premises, emphasising the need for maintaining a hygienic environment. Doordarshan Kendra Itanagar's deputy director Deepak Kumar, who was the chief guest of the event, in his address commended Deepak Nabam Living Home for its tireless efforts in social welfare, particularly in combating drug addiction and promoting cleanliness.

Special Guest Deepak Nabam, founder of Deepak Nabam Living Home, spoke about the detrimental effects of drug addiction, explaining its various stages and stressing the importance of rehabilitation and community support. Significantly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his Mann Ki Baat address on January 19, this year, acknowledged the remarkable contributions of Deepak Nabam and his organization in helping individuals recover from substance abuse.
