ITANAGAR: In a continued crackdown on drug trafficking, Naharlagun Police arrested a woman drug peddler during a raid at Panchayat Colony, under Operation Dawn 2.0, SP Mihin Gambo said on Tuesday. Acting on credible intelligence, a police team led by Naharlagun police station officer in-charge Inspector Krishnendu Dev, along with sub-inspector Vivek Linggi, head constable Kanto Samyor, constables W Singpho, Bakin Mitkon, Osinam Pabin, and lady constable Lobsang Wangmu, executed the operation.
The raid was conducted under the supervision of Naharlagun SP and SDPO Rishi Longdo, in the presence of Town Magistrate Khoda Bath.
A search of the residence of the accused, Enime Kena Mihu (31), a native of Anini, in Dibang Valley district of the state, led to the recovery of 25 vials containing suspected heroin weighing 32.9 grams, a plastic container with suspected heroin (30.7 grams), 42 empty vials, a red plastic container, two used syringes, and three empty cigarette packets. The total seized contraband weighed 63.6 grams, including the containers. During interrogation, Mihu admitted to procuring the drugs from Assam for both personal use and distribution. A case was registered at Naharlagun PS under the NDPS Act, and the accused has been taken into custody, the SP added.
