ITANAGAR: The inaugural Mrs TCL Pageant Contest marked a historic milestone for the Tirap, Changlang, and Longding (TCL) districts of Arunachal Pradesh, bringing together grace, intellect, and empowerment on a grand stage.
Organized under the leadership of ATWF President Wiwan Wangsu Ramra, the event was held at Nehru Stadium, Khonsa, on Friday and witnessed enthusiastic participation.
State Women & Child Development and Cultural Affairs Minister Dasanglu Pul, who graced the occasion alongside Basar MLA Nyabi Jini Dirchi, Khonsa West MLA Chakat Aboh, and Khonsa East MLA Wanglam Sawin, commended the contestants for stepping forward to showcase their talents. She lauded the courage of a mother of four who participated in the competition, emphasizing how women in Arunachal are making remarkable strides across various fields.
“Women of Arunachal Pradesh are no longer lagging behind. They are excelling in every sector, from education to administration, and many now hold high-ranking positions,” she remarked.
The minister also acknowledged the support of the contestants’ husbands in encouraging their wives to take part in the pageant and highlighted the improved pass percentage of women in the education sector.
The minister took the opportunity to urge the youth of TCL and the state to stay away from drug addiction, warning that it destroys futures. She encouraged people to take advantage of various central and state government-sponsored schemes that provide sustainable livelihood opportunities.
The evening’s highlight was the crowning of Nissai Wangsa Saham from Longding district as Mrs. TCL 2025, who received a cash prize of Rs 1,20,000 from Minister Pul.
