Man arrested with 82 grams of heroin worth Rs 16.4 lakh in Arunachal’s Namsai district

ITANAGAR: A man was arrested with 82 grams of heroin valued at around Rs 16.40 lakh during a raid at Solungtoo village in Arunachal Pradesh’s Namsai district, officials said on Thursday. The accused, identified as Osina Chautang, was apprehended after police conducted a search at his residence. During preliminary interrogation, Chautang allegedly told police that he had procured the heroin from outside the district for local distribution. Police registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and launched further investigation.
