ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Education Minister Pasang Dorjee Sona has appealed to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to address the serious logistical difficulties faced by students in the state due to the limited number of Common University Entrance Test (CUET) centres. At present, CUET is conducted at only four centres across the state including, NIT at Jote, NERIST in Nirjuli, RGU in Doimukh, and iON Digital Zone in Naharlagun, all situated in and around the capital region.
Sona noted that while these centres are valuable, they are insufficient to cater to the needs of students, especially those living in remote and mountainous areas.
In a formal request, Sona urged the Education ministry to set up at least four additional CUET centres in Pasighat (East Siang), Bomdila (West Kameng), Tezu (Lohit), and Aalo (West Siang).
