GOLAGHAT: On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, a blood donation camp was organized by the 142 Battalion of the CRPF in collaboration with the Blood Centre of S.K.K. Civil Hospital. The event was held at Maheswari Bhawan, Golaghat, on Saturday. The officers and jawans of the CRPF enthusiastically participated in the camp, donating blood with the noble aim of saving lives and helping those in need.
The event saw the active participation of several dignitaries, including Mohinder Kumar, Commandant of the 142 Bn CRPF; Dr. Shalini Singh, SG CMO, 142 Bn; and along with the presence of subordinate officers and jawans of the CRPF, the medical team from the Golaghat Civil Hospital Blood Centre, and other healthcare professionals who played a key role in the success of the camp and motivated donors.
Addressing the gathering, Commandant Mohinder Kumar encouraged all personnel to actively take part in such humanitarian initiatives. He emphasized the importance of blood donation, particularly during emergencies, and highlighted its crucial role in saving lives.
TEZPUR: World Blood Donor Day was observed with great enthusiasm and active public participation by the Blood Centre of Kanaklata Civil Hospital, Tezpur. To mark the occasion, a public awareness rally was organized, followed by a formal meeting that brought together key figures from the health sector, local administration, and civil society.
The rally aimed to promote awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation and saw participation from healthcare professionals, local citizens, and members of various organizations across the Sonitpur district. After the rally, a public meeting was held and graced by several distinguished guests, including Additional District Commissioner (Health) Twahir Alam, Joint Director of Health Services, Sonitpur, Dr. Jagadish Goswami, and Superintendent of Kanaklata Civil Hospital, Dr. Hiranjan Saikia.
A key highlight of the event was the felicitation of nine outstanding voluntary blood donors associated with the Blood Centre of Kanaklata Civil Hospital. Among them, seven were male and two were female donors, who were recognized for their consistent and selfless contributions to saving lives through blood donation.
Alongside the main event, blood donation camps were also held at the Defence Research Laboratory (DRDO), Tezpur, and at the 30 Assam Rifles base in Lokhra. These camps saw enthusiastic participation from defence personnel and staff, reflecting the spirit of solidarity and community service.
The observance of World Blood Donor Day in Tezpur not only honoured the generosity of voluntary blood donors but also helped spread awareness about the critical need for regular, safe blood donation to support healthcare systems and save lives.
GORESWAR: In observance of World Blood Donor Day 2025, a blood donation camp was organized on Saturday at Tamulpur Sub-Divisional Civil Hospital, where District Commissioner Pankaj Chakravarty took part and also donated blood, setting an inspiring example.
The camp was jointly organized by the Blood Centre of DRB District Civil Hospital, Mushalpur, under the Assam State Blood Transfusion Council, in collaboration with the Tamulpur District Administration, the Indian Army’s 107 MTN Brigade, and the District Health Society, Tamulpur. Held under the theme “Give Blood, Give Hope: Together We Save Lives”, the event drew enthusiastic participation from government officials, army personnel, and local citizens. Their collective contribution highlighted the significance of voluntary blood donation as a noble and life-saving act.
