MORIGAON: The 15th Ankiya Bhaona Samaroh is set to be held from June 26 to June 29 at the Sarbajanin Hari Mandir premises in Morigaon. The event is being organized by Satriya Kendra, Guwahati, a key centre for promoting Satriya dance, music, and theatre under the Sangeet Natak Akademi.

Traditional Ankiya Bhaona performances will take place every evening from 6 pm onwards. In addition to the cultural programmes, seminars and lectures related to the Satriya tradition will be held at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Morigaon, on June 27 and June 28.

The festival will open with a performance of Keligopal Naat by Uttar Kamalabari Sattra Sankardev Kristi Sangha, directed by Bhaben Barbayan, on June 26. On June 27, Arjun Bhajan, directed by Prashanta Sharma, and Patni Prasad, directed by Gunakar Devgoswami, will be staged by Natyapeeth and Purbaranga, respectively.

On June 28, Chordhara, by Sangeet Sattra, directed by Ranjumani Saikia and Dhrubajyoti Pathak, will be presented, followed by Shri Ram Bijay by Satriya Rangalaya, directed by Upen Chandra Barua Barbayan. The festival will also feature Bhojan Bahar by Rangalaya, directed by Mrinal Kumar Bora, and Parijat Haran by Dulal Roy, developed as part of a workshop by Satriya Kendra, Guwahati, on June 29.
