UDALGURI: The 23rd battalion SSB rescued a barking deer from Sluice Gate at Bhairabkunda and handed over to the forest department. When the SSB jawans were patrolling the area, they heard the sound of a groaning animal. They searched around and found a barking deer which was injured by stray dogs. The SSB troop rescued the deer from the clutches of the dogs. They gave a healing touch to the animal with first aid and informed the forest officials. The Udalguri district is situated in the foothills of the Himalayan range and is rich in flora and fauna. Because of the poachers and deforestation in the area, wildlife is very rare. When the entire society has been confined under lockdown to circumvent the coronavirus, the humane face of security force has come up. The noble deed of SSB was praised and lauded by the citizen in Udalguri.
