LAKHIMPUR: The 51st biennial session of Uttar Lakhimpur Mohkuma Prathamik Sikshak Sanmilani, the common forum of the Lower Primary School teachers of North Lakhimpur subdivision, was conducted with a daylong programme on Sunday. The event was organized at the Naoboicha Model LP School premises in association with the Naoboicha Education Block unit of the organization.
The agenda of the event began with a cleanliness drive in the early morning. It was followed by a plantation drive which was inaugurated by Purna Baruah, former State member of the organization. President Rajen Phukan unfurled the organizational flag at 7:30am while vice-president Bonti Borah administered the smriti tarpan event.
Former secretary-cum-State member Probin Saikia inaugurated the main gate of the session venue. After the registration of the delegates, the delegates' meeting commenced from 9:30 am with president Rajen Phurkan in the chair. The meeting was held under the management of secretary Debo Borah who also submitted the secretarial report of the past session in the delegates' meeting. It was inaugurated by Probin Saikia while Ramesh Chandra Chutiya, the Inspector of Schools, Lakhimpur district, delivered his lecture as a specially invited guest. In the same meeting, the executive body of the Uttar Lakhimpur Mohkuma Prathamik Sikshak Sanmilani was formed with Dimbeswar Dutta as president, Bonti Borah, Geetali Hazarika as vice-presidents and Debo Borah as secretary.
On the other hand, the open session of the event commenced from 1:00pm with Rajen Phukan in the chair. It was inaugurated with the presentation of a chorus song performed by the female members of the organization. In the same meeting 'Kirti Sikshak' award winner teachers— Rani Baruah, Deepali Gogoi, Babul Dutta, Chandramai Mogor, Bina Hazarika, Chittaranjan Saha, Nirupoma Borpatra Gohain, Mensi Chayengiya, Hamidur Rahman, five donour to Sanmilani Bhavan— Tulu Devi, Shewali Gogoi, donor to Sanmilani Nyas (Trust)— Probin Saikia was accorded warm felicitation by the organization with a citation, phulam gamosa and a holy book. On the other hand, five former State members of the organization from Naoboicha Education Block were also feted in the programme. Asom Rajyik Prathamik Sikshak Sanmilani treasurer Dipankar Sarmah attended the programme as appointed speaker while Naoboicha Education Block Officer Arupjyoti Bhuyan, Asom Rajyik Prathamik Sikshak Sanmilani assistant secretary Kalpana Das were present as special guests.
The organization feted Arupjyoti Bhuyan for winning 'Saikshik Uttaran' award. In the same meeting, the regular publication of the organization— 'Mukti Doot' was released by former secretary Pradip Bhuyan. Organizing committee secretary Kamal Borah extended the vote of thanks while Naoboicha Model LP School headmistress Jayanti Samad lit the earthen lamp in the evening. The organization took a slew of resolution in the meeting in connection with various issues and demands of the LP School teachers.
