DOOMDOOMA: Rajesh Mahanand (35 years), a youth of the tea tribe community of Hokonguri TE, near Doomdooma undertook an adventurous journey to travel on foot from Doomdooma to New Delhi to draw the attention of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the vexed problems of the country including the burning problems of the tea tribes community of Assam.

According to him, it would require about three months time for him to cover the distance of around 5,000 kilometres from Doomdooma in Tinsukia district of Assam to New Delhi. Everybody was taken aback when Rajesh Mahanand started his journey on foot on Wednesday. All Adivasi Students' Association of Assam (AASAA), Doomdooma Regional Committee, felicitated Rajesh on Wednesday and wished all success for his journey.
