
LAKHIMPUR: Abhinav Theatre, a leading serious theatre group of No-1 Maj Gaon, under Phulbari Bokanadi area of the Lakhimpur district, has been invited to stage a Hindi play named Karowa Sach on May 6 at a National Drama Festival to be held at Mahishadal in West Bengal.
The National Drama Festival titled ‘Padatik Chaturanga Theater Carnival’ has been organized by Lakshya Padatik, a theatre group of Mahishadal, East Medinipur district of West Bengal on May 6 and May 7.
The play is directed by Dayal Krishna Nath, written by Kushal Deka and adapted into Hindi by Ravi Verma. The play is about the life of the ‘Fusuri’ of Bhaona as well as the comedian of Indian folk drama. Actors of Abhinav Theatre, Ravi Ranjan Kumar, Dakshina Nath, Dayal Krishna Nath, Anzarul Haque, Manoj Kumar, Raju Ranjan and Ankita will act in the play. Pranab Mahanta will participate as Production Controller while Tarun Krishna Nath will shoulder the responsibility of stage management. Costume designer is Maheswar Nath.
The play has already been staged 97 times in various theatre festivals held in different parts of India. In the upcoming days, the play will be staged in seven festivals to be held in West India and North India in June, informed Karuna Krishna Nath, the Project Director of Abhinav Theatre. The members of the theatre group have already set out for West Bengal.
