All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) stages protest against pathetic condition of Dibrugarh roads

DIBRUGARH: The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU), on Wednesday staged a protest at Chowikidinghee Chariali against the pathetic condition of Dibrugarh roads. The students’ union took out the protest from the AASU office holding placards and banners and raising slogans against the PWD and DMC for failing to repair the roads.

“The PWD and DMC have failed to repair the roads of Dibrugarh which are in pathetic condition. Big potholes have formed on most of the roads,” said a member of AASU. He added, “We demand the concerned department to repair the roads within 10 days, failing which we will intensify our movement against the departments.”

“Due to the potholes, the residents of Dibrugarh are facing several problems. One year has passed since Dibrugarh was declared as the second capital but the DMC and PWD have failed to even maintain the roads,” the member said.
