KOKRAJHAR: The All Bodo Students' Union (ABSU) and Bodo Women Co-Ordination Committee (BWCC) on Saturday demanded speedy justice for the two Rabha community girls who were allegedly raped and murdered at Abhayakuti in Kokrajhar district, by bringing the case in fast track court and giving death penalty.

Convener of BWCC, Rangina Borgoyary said there had been many incidents of rape and murder in BTC region but most the victims were yet to get justice as cases were left pending. She said that the police had arrested the rape and murder accused of Abhayakuti but at the same time, the victims must get justice at the earliest so that such acts were never repeated.

Meanwhile, the president and general secretary of Kokrajhar district committee, ABSU, Kripesh Daimary and Khampa Basumatary said that the union was serious about the recent rape and murder incident of the two minor girls at Abhayakuti under Kokrajhar district on June 11. The ABSU demanded to proceed the Abhayakuti case in the fast track court for speedy justice to the two tribal girls, to impose maximum punishment to the accused in the rape and murder case as per the law of the land, to provide maximum compensation to the victim families and to provide safety and security of the life and property of the common people in the State.
