BOKO: Chaygaon MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed, along with his wife Noori Ahmed, on Sunday handed over an ambulance to the Mahatma Gandhi Model Hospital in Bamunigaon under Chaygaon constituency.

"After the Chaygaon Hospital and Goroimari 30-bedded Primary Health Centre receiving ambulances from the MLA fund, today Bamunigaon Mahatma Gandhi Model Hospital has got an ambulance for the public. I will give another vehicle to the hospital stuff for the convenience of transport within three months," Ahmed said.

The MLA handed over the key of the ambulance to the Hospital superintendent Lalita Rohangpi.

In his speech, MLA said that the cost of the ambulance is around 8.5 lakh. He also added that people of the Chaygaon and Boko area, along with tourists, will get more benefits as the 27-km-long Chaygaon-Ukium Road will be constructed by spending around Rs 100 crore. On the other hand, 75 bighas of land in Nowapara village in the Chaygaon constituency was handed over to the CRPF for a construction of a permanent camp. The Old Age Home and Child Observation Home will be reconstructed by spending nearly Rs 100 crore.

Bongaon Block Development officer Gulshan Sultana, Bongaon Block Congress Committee President Chabin Boro and other local people and leaders were also present at the programme.
