Assam: 9th foundation day of Children’s Home observed in Tinsukia

TINSUKIA: Keshav Baheti Surjudaya Children Home (KBSCH), Gangabari near Makum observed its 9th Foundation Day with several inmates of the home participating in various events in the presence of a distinguished gathering today. The programme also witnessed felicitation of 4 leading personalities of Tinsukia district for their outstanding contribution to societal cause. The parents of Late Keshav Baheti and donor of Children Home Narayan Beheti, and Sarojbala Beheti were also present on the occasion.

The children’s home has 48 inmates presently of which one is appearing for HS Final examinations while the youngest inmate is 6 years old. Akhil Chandra Baruah, Secretary, in his welcome address, recalled generous contributions and public support during the home’s hard days, particularly during pandemic.

Today’s programme began with a dance recital by the inmates followed by other attractive programmes. Arjun Baruah, President of the home, also lauded the selfless sacrifice of Superintendent of KBSCH Trishna Bora along with other staff. Among those honoured in the programme were Dr Binoy Phukan of Makum, Dr Monjit Singh of Civil Hospital Tinsukia, Dr Anjan Saikia of Doomdooma College, and Ranajyoti Neog, a social worker and journalist of Ledu.
