GUWAHATI: The Assam Higher Secondary (HS) Final Examination 2025 started today, with 3,06,925 students taking part across the state. The exams have two shifts: the morning shift from 9 AM to 12 PM and the afternoon shift from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM.

To maintain fairness, all exam centers have CCTV cameras, and a special control room monitors them in real time. Strict rules are in place, including Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which bans unauthorized people from coming within 100 meters of the exam centers.

Security has been significantly tightened, especially at sensitive centres, with police and CRPF personnel deployed to maintain order and prevent any malpractice. The exams are being conducted at 856 designated centres under strict supervision.

The Arts stream has the highest number of students, with 2,30,091 candidates. Science follows with 57,724 students, while Commerce has 17,869, and Vocational Education has 1,241 students. This year, more female students (1,62,423) are taking the exams than male students (1,44,502).

Extending his best wishes to the examinees, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote on X, “My best wishes to all candidates appearing in their Higher Secondary Exams which begin today. Have a calm mind and give your best shot. Good luck!”

The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) has urged students to adhere to examination guidelines and maintain discipline to ensure a smooth and fair conduct of the exams.
