NUMALIGARH: The All Assam Gorkha Students’ Union (AAGSU), Golaghat district committee, is set to organize its 13th bi-annual conference on April 2 and 3 at Dhansirimukh High School in Bokakhat. The decision was made at a public meeting held at the Saarbajanin Ram Mandir premises in Polashguri, Bokakhat, in response to a call by the AAGSU, Golaghat district committee. The meeting, presided over by AAGSU district President Raja Adhikari, was attended by over 100 people, including students, teachers, and local residents.
Prominent speakers, including AAGSU Central Executive Member Sanjib Chettri, General Secretary of the Assam Nepali Sahitya Sabha Tilak Sharma, retired headmaster Domba Kumar Bharati, social worker Dadhiram Upadhyaya, and journalist Chabit Bista, addressed the gathering, sharing their insights and suggestions for the conference. The meeting also formed a reception committee to oversee the preparations for the bi-annual conference. The committee comprises Dadhiram Upadhyaya as President, Bir Kumar Chettri and Tikaram Chettri as Vice-Presidents, Domba Kumar Bharati as Working President, and Dibyajyoti Upadhyaya as General Secretary.
The conference aims to bring together students, educators, and community leaders to discuss key issues affecting the Gorkha community in Assam.
