
KOKRAJHAR: The All Assam Students' Union (AASU) held a massive protest rally in Assam's Kokrajhar calling for strong action against the illegal trafficking and trade of the illicit drug Borbih. Led by AASU Central Vice President Nabajyoti Roy and District President Jius Choudhury, the rally tried to put the growing drug menace and the negative impact it has on society into the limelight.
The protest rally started from the AASU district office and traversed the main areas of Kokrajhar before concluding at the District Commissioner's office. The rally was marked by a large gathering of AASU members and concerned citizens, expressing their intense indignation against drug-related activities and demanding swift action on the part of law enforcement agencies.
During the protest, participants raised alarms about the rising incidence of drug abuse, particularly among the youth. AASU leaders emphasized the urgent need for effective enforcement measures to combat drug trafficking and protect future generations from the perils of substance abuse.
AASU, known for its proactive approach to social issues concerning the youth, reaffirmed its cause in standing against drug abuse in Assam. The rally was a strong gesture of public defiance, calling on authorities to step up efforts in stamping out those involved in illegal drug activities and ensuring the safety and welfare of the community.
