BOKAKHAT: An awareness and animal health camp was organized on Friday in Dhodang village of Numaligarh under the supervision of ICAR-IGFRI, Jhansi. The primary objective of the initiative was to provide preventive healthcare and raise awareness on livestock management in anticipation of potential flood-related challenges.

During the camp, nearly 800 livestock, including cattle, poultry, and dogs, received essential healthcare services such as medications, supplements, and expert consultations. Several notable officials and experts from KVK Golaghat including Dr Madhusmita Kataki, Senior Scientist and Head, Dr Bedanta Pathak, Programme Assistant (Animal Science), Roktim Baruah, SMS (Horticultural Crops), Dr Richa Borkakoti, Veterinary Officer, SVD Bordhingiya, and Rajdeep Khatoniar, Field Assistant, Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, Golaghat, participated in the event.

The programme was smoothly coordinated and supported by well-known progressive farmer of the region, Mridul Saikia, whose efforts greatly contributed to the success of the event. This collaborative initiative underscored the commitment of various stakeholders toward ensuring livestock health security and strengthening community resilience in flood-prone areas.
