Assam: Anupurbik Art and Craft Institute holds award-giving ceremony in Nagaon

NAGAON: The Anupurbik Art and Craft Institute, a leading art and craft institution in Nagaon, held its annual award distribution and felicitation ceremony at the Nagaon Bengali Girls’ High School Auditorium. The ceremony took place, starting with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Dr Tulumoni Devi, retired principal of Nagaon Government Training College.      

The ceremony featured esteemed guests, including Simanta Bora, Vice-Chairman, Nagaon Municipality Board, Deben Saikia, noted social activist and writer, Yashwant Sarma, veteran artiste, Manoj Kalita, Working President of the Assam Weightlifting Association, Satyajit Roy, retired teacher, and Rumi Laskar, Teacher. The guests were felicitated with traditional Assamese gamosa, jaapi, and momentos.    Besides,  over 68 distinguished individuals who have made significant contributions to education, culture, art, sports, and social work were honoured with traditional Assamese gamosa and jaapi. These individuals included retired teachers, social workers, journalists, musicians, and artistes.

The institute also awarded its ‘Best Teacher’ awards to Deepjyoti Roy, Rachayita Das, Jayati Paul, Gita Debnath, Simpi Mondal, Debangshu Das, Rahul Naha, Pranita Bhattacharya, and Gaurav Dev.     

The ‘Student of the Year’ award was given to Shrestha Paul and Dikshit Bezbaruah, while the ‘Sincere Student of the Year’ award went to Arpita Kundu and Neina Robi Das. Other awards included ‘Best Painting’ (Eshmi Bora and Jeet Das), ‘Best Color’ (Bishal Saikia and Baibhabi Nath), and ‘Best Sculpture’ (Shreya Saikia and Priyanka Sarkar).       Over 173 students were awarded prizes for their excellence in various fields. Eight students who showed exceptional performance across both branches of the institute were also recognized, along with their parents. The institute felicitated two students each from Nowgong Bengali Higher Secondary School and Vivekananda High School for their outstanding performance in cultural and academic fields.

Anupurbik Art and Craft Institute offers training in 96 art and craft activities and has achieved several world records. The institute has also received the ‘Best Youth Organization’ award from the Government of India and the ‘Excellence’ award from the International Human Rights Ambassador Organization. The institute’s Founder and Principal Rajiv Das has been instrumental in making it a leading art and craft institution in Assam and India through his dedication and commitment to discipline.
