Silchar: The two-day Barman Dimasa Kachari cultural meet ended here in Silchar with a series of thought-provoking deliberations from the leading personalities of these communities. The meet, organized by Barman Dimasa Kachari Development Council saw well attended seminar on socio-cultural and political aspirations of a Dimasa people living outside the sixth scheduled areas of Assam. The seminar was presided over by Prof Dr Vandana Thousen of the Assam University while Rupesh Barman, the chairman of the Development Council delivered the key note address. The panel of speakers included Dr Biswajyoti Barman, Kharigapsa Dibyajyoti Barman, Nanidi Longmailai and Manik Barman. Apart from them, the other speakers in the second session were Shantanu Barman, Shuvit Barman, Amal Kanti Barman and Upansish Nunisa while Pranit Giri, the vice chairman presided over the session.
