GOALPARA: While on one hand, Goalpara Police has raised a war against drugs and psychotropic objects and are achieving success, on the other, crimes like bike and car lifting are increasing in the town.
On Wednesday night at about 8 PM, a Hero Honda Splendor motorcycle was lifted from the front of the traffic police checkpoint at New Market. The bike owner Mehetab Hussain left his motorcycle, bearing registration number AS 18 E 7846, and went to the market. However, when he returned, he didn’t find his bike. Though he immediately informed the police, no trace of the stolen bike has been found till the filling of this report. It is reported that another Bajaj Pulsar bike from Shastrinagar and one Tata Sumo from Tilapara Gauriamoth area have been reported stolen during the last one month.
