BISWANATH CHARIALI: The first meeting of the newly formed Biswanath Zila Parishad was held on Saturday. Sunita Tanti was unanimously elected as the chairperson of Biswanath Zila Parishad in the meeting held at the conference room of the office of Biswanath District Commissioner. On the other hand, Pabita Narzary Goyari was unanimously elected as the vice-chairperson of the zila parishad. Notably, the seat of the Chairperson of the Biswanath Zila Parishad was free of reservation while the seat of the Vice-Chairperson was reserved for the Scheduled Tribes. After the election, District Commissioner Simanta Kumar Das administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly elected chairperson, vice-chairperson and each member of the Zila Parishad.  The Biswanath Zila Parishad has been formed with 12 members elected from a total of 12 seats, four in each legislative assembly constituency of the district. Sonitpur MP Ranjit Dutta, MLAs, Zila Parishad CEO Liza Talukdar and senior officials were present in the meeting.
