KOKRAJHAR: Bongaigaon Refinery Indian Oil recently handed over crucial Tuberculosis (TB) testing equipment to Jwhwlao Swmbla Basumatary (JSB) Civil Hospital, Kajalgaon in Chirang, reinforcing its commitment to community health under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The formal handing over ceremony took place at JSB Civil Hospital Kajalgaon, Chirang, and witnessed the presence of key dignitaries. Nayan Kumar Barua, Executive Director & Refinery Head of Bongaigaon Refinery, officially presented two units of Handheld X-ray machines and two units of CBNAAT (Cartridge Based Nucleic Acid Amplification Test) machines to Jatin Bora, District Commissioner of Chirang district. The event was also graced by the presence of Hospital Superintendent Dr Rejaul Karim, District TB Officer Dr Rajest Pandey, officials from Bongaigaon Refinery, and doctors and staff of JSB Civil Hospital Kajalgaon.

Dr Rajest Pandey expressed his sincere gratitude, acknowledging the significant impact of these advanced diagnostic tools. He highlighted that the newly provided equipment will be invaluable in the early detection of TB cases in the region. Notably, the Handheld X-ray machine has the capacity to conduct over 100 X-rays per day, significantly enhancing the hospital’s diagnostic capabilities.

Expressing his appreciation, Jatin Bora, District Commissioner of Chirang, conveyed his sincere thanks to Bongaigaon Refinery for this valuable contribution. He emphasized that the donated TB testing equipment will be of immense benefit to the residents of Chirang, facilitating timely and accurate diagnosis, which is crucial in combating the spread of Tuberculosis. This initiative by Bongaigaon Refinery underscores Indian Oil’s dedication to contributing to the well-being of the communities in which it operates, particularly in the crucial area of public health. The provision of state-of-the-art TB testing equipment will undoubtedly strengthen the healthcare infrastructure in Chirang and aid in the fight against Tuberculosis.
