KOKRAJHAR: The UPPL-led coalition government of BTR is all set to celebrate the 5th BTR Accord Day at Green Field, Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar with two days of colourful programmes on January 27 and 28. Hectic preparations are going on at Bofofa Nwgwr to celebrate the accord day.
Meanwhile, the ruling United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) has claimed that the party was gaining popularity among the people across the Bodoland Territorial Region.
Addressing the media persons on Monday evening at the central UPPL office in Kokrajhar, the Chairman of media cell Hantigiri Narzary, and UPPL Secretary and spokespersons Somnath Narzary and Kusumbar Choudhury claimed that the party was committed to work for the all-round development of the citizens, and accordingly the developmental activities and upliftment of the society had been being carried out wholeheartedly. The leaders also claimed that the UPPL-led BTR government, under the leadership of Pramod Boro, CEM of BTR, has launched various missions in its glorious four years since 2020 (December 15).
They said that peace has been prevailing in the Bodoland region and that the development initiatives are taken up for all sections of people.
“The UPPL has gained mass popularity from all communities,” spokesperson Somnath Narzary said, adding that the launching of the community vision document of BTR had received a good response from the people as the vision document ensures equal development and justice to all.
On a question of the upcoming BTC elections, Narzary said that the UPPL was fully prepared to contest the upcoming BTC council elections to be held this year with full potential and confidence. “The party leaders and workers are working dedicatedly for strengthening the party affairs across the region,” he said adding that the BTR government is celebrating the 5th BTR Peace Accord Day with a two-day programme on January 27 and 28 at Green Field, Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar. He said Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma will grace the grand celebration of the BTR Peace Accord Day on January 28 as the chief guest.
