Assam CM Distributes PMAY-G Sanction Letters To 3.88 Lakh Beneficiaries

GUWAHATI: In a significant move, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma distributed sanction letters to 3,88,358 beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) at a ceremony held in Rampur Palasbari on March 19.

As part of the initiative, the first installment of Rs. 37,500 will be credited to the beneficiaries' bank accounts starting March 19 to support the construction of their homes.

A geo-tagging survey will be conducted across the state from March 17 to 26 to assist those not included in the beneficiary list. CM Sarma encouraged all eligible villagers to get their homes geo-tagged to avail of the PMAY-G benefits.

Earlier, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma chaired a video conference with district commissioners and co-district commissioners to discuss the distribution of approval letters for the first installment under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G).

CM Sarma directed them to organize the event simultaneously across all districts, ensuring that 3,88,358 beneficiaries receive their approval letters on March 19, 2025. The meeting also focused on the Gamusa distribution program, with CM Sarma emphasizing the need for smooth execution and thorough arrangements to ensure success.

Similarly, CM Sarma chaired a review meeting to evaluate the functioning of secondary and higher education. Key discussions included the appointment and remuneration of teachers to ensure a motivated and effective workforce.
