NAGAON: As per the guidelines enumerated in the Lead Bank Scheme, Priority Sector Lending - Targets & Classification and guidelines for preparation of Potential Linked Credit Plans (PLPs), NABARD has been preparing the PLPs for all the districts across the country, on an annual basis, since 1989. Continuing the tradition, the PLP for FY 2025-26 for Hojai district has been prepared by the DDM-NABARD Rajendar Perna.

This PLP mapped the developmental potential (existing as well as new activities) available in the district. It highlighted the important functional areas and the support required to be provided (both by the financial institutions and the line departments) for development of these areas, and the district as a whole. In this PLP, emphasis has been laid on augmentation of credit flow for capital formation in agriculture and to create more innovative and newer channels for smooth delivery of rural credit both in farm and non-farm sectors. This year, NABARD has leveraged the technology for preparing a digital PLP for efficient credit projections and has standardized structure, coverage & data indices.  DDM-NABARD Perna has prepared the PLP 2025-26 for the Hojai district in accordance with the priorities spelt out by Government of India, Government of Assam, RBI, and NABARD and after numerous consultations with the LDM, the Bankers, and all the line departments by adopting a 'Bottom Up' approach under the overall supervision of the DC-Hojai and NABARD Assam Regional Office.

The PLP 2025-26 has been classified into five broad sectors, viz. (i) Agriculture, (ii) MSME, (iii) Export credit, Education & Housing, (iv) Social Infrastructure including Renewable Energy, and (v) Others (informal/micro credit). The PLP projection for FY 2025-26 is estimated at Rs 713.88 crore, comprising Rs 273.31 crore towards Agriculture Sector, Rs 370.80 crore for MSME Sector, and Rs 69.77 crore towards all Other Priority Sectors.
