

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma chaired a meeting to review the preparations ahead of the Japanese speaker’s visit to Assam.
CM Sarma focuses on the display of Assam's rich cultural heritage and also expresses that the visit has special importance to strengthen the India-Japan partnership. In the meeting, CM Sarma also reviewed the tour schedule of the delegation, including visits to Guwahati and Jagiroad.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed gratitude to Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba for highlighting Assam’s role in expanding Indo-Japan collaboration to equip Assam youth with skills to provide them job opportunities in Japan and Japanese companies. The Japanese Prime Minister made a mention of Assam while speaking at a people’s innovation seminar.
Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, earlier in January, met with Koga Yuichiro, State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Government of Japan, during his visit to Japan for the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit.
During the visit, Sarma expressed Assam’s readiness to establish a dedicated business park for Japanese firms and urged the Government of Japan to set up testing centres for the Technical Intern Training and Specified Skill Workers programs, providing greater opportunities for the youth of Assam.
