Assam: Digboi branch of Sadou Asom Lekhika Samaroh Samiti formed

A new branch of SALSS was formed in Digboi on July 13 at No.2 Borbeel Prathamik Vidyalaya, with Bibha Gogoi presiding over the meeting.

DOOMDOOMA: A new branch of Sadou Asom Lekhika Samaroh Samiti (SALSS) was formed at Digboi at a meeting held at No.2 Borbeel Prathamik Vidyalaya under the presidency of Bibha Gogoi on July 13.

    The meeting that began with a song 'Chiro Senehi Mor Bhakha Janoni' presented by the Sanskrita Artistes group was attended by Tinsukia Zila Lekhika Samaroh Samiti (TZLSS) President Dr Meena Devi Baruah, Secretary, TZLSS and Executive Member, SALSS Mira Saikia, vice-president, SALSS and recipient of SALSS's Kharanon Barthakur Commemorative Good Organiser's award 2025 Kironmoyee Hazarika Baruah, and Organizing Secretary, TZLSS and the President, Doomdooma Sakha Lekhika Samaroh Samiti, Dibyalata Deka.

     The new committee comprising Chinu Borgohain as president, Binita Moran as working president, Nabajani Baruah Saikia as secretary, and Bibha Gogoi as Treasurer was given recognition as a new branch under TZLSS.

       Besides president Dr Meena Devi Baruah, the meeting was addressed by Organizing Secretary Dibyalata Deka and Vice-President of SALSS Kironmoyee Hazarika Baruah. Another two leading persons of Digboi in their addresses conveyed their good wishes for the new branch.

      The newly-elected president, working president, and the general secretary were felicitated with cheleng chadors by TZLSS and the meeting came to an end with singing of Asom Sangeet 'O Mur Apunar Desh.'
