TANGLA: Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervour in Tangla and its adjoining areas, including Panery, Dimakuchi, Garuajhar, and Ghagra in Udalguri District today. The celebrations marked the culmination of the holy month of Ramzan, with men and children dressed in their traditional best flocking to Eidgahs for special prayers.

Hundreds of Muslims gathered at the Bara Masjid Idgah Maidan and Banseria Eidgah Maidan in Tangla to offer prayers. Religious leaders delivered special sermons emphasizing the spiritual significance of Ramzan fasting and encouraged the community to uphold the values of peace and communal harmony. Children were seen in high spirits, dressed in colourful attires, visiting friends and relatives, adding to the festive charm. A significant aspect of Eid celebrations, Fitra (charitable donation for the poor) was distributed before the prayers, ensuring that even the underprivileged could partake in the festivities.

In a heartwarming display of communal harmony, members of other communities extended their greetings outside Eidgahs and visited Muslim households to share in the celebrations and relish traditional delicacies. The spirit of brotherhood and unity was evident as people from different backgrounds came together to mark the auspicious occasion. The day concluded with joyous gatherings, feasting, and heartfelt exchanges of goodwill, reinforcing the essence of Eid as a festival of love, generosity, and togetherness.
