NAGAON: The Shivakanta-Krantikal Nyas announced that Krantikal Sanman 2024 will be presented to noted social activist and cultural activist Noushad Akhtar Hazarika. This prestigious award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the cultural and social landscape of the state.
Hazarika, a native of Nagaon, has been instrumental in shaping the cultural and intellectual environment of Nagaon town for over decades since 1972. As the founder general secretary of the pioneer cultural organization Kallol Sangskritik Gosthi, he has played a pivotal role in promoting art, literature, and culture in the region. His efforts have also led to the establishment of the Kallol Art School, Nagaon Cine Club, and Nagaon Book Fair.
A pioneer of the food movement and medium movement, Hazarika has been associated with almost every social and cultural organization in Nagaon for the past five decades. He has also mentored numerous talented individuals, helping them achieve recognition and success.
The Krantikal Samman is a testament to Hazarika’s tireless efforts and contributions to the cultural and social development of Nagaon.
The previous recipients of this award include notable personalities such as Kabin Phukan, Ananda Chandra Dutta, Dhani Bora, Jyotish Sikdar, Sananta Tanti, Pranab Jyoti Deka, etc.
Kailash Rajkhowa, secretary of the Shivakanta-Krantikal Nyas, stated that the award is a tribute to Hazarika’s selfless contributions to the cultural and intellectual landscape of Nagaon.
