DHUBRI: A sacred and befitting meeting was held to offer tribute to renowned novelist, poet, storyteller, actress, and litterateur Gitali Baruah at her residence on the occasion of her shradhya on Sunday. Held at her residence's 'Thapona,' the meeting was attended by a delegation from the Axam Xahitya Xabha, led by its Vice-President Padum Rajkhowa.
Tributes and condolences were paid by the attendees to Gitali Baruah, recalling her contributions to literature. Fans and admirers from Dhubri, Chapar, Bilasipara, and Fakiragram gathered to pay their condolences. They read out poems and shared their memories of the late writer. The ceremony saw emotional moments as poets Dhiman Das, Tilak Chandra Prasad, Chandra Barman, Moslem Uddin Ahmed, and Nayan Tara Barman read out poems while paying tributes to Gitali Baruah.
The attendees also offered moral support and condolences to her husband Dr Akhil Kumar Baruah and their son Madhurya Baruah.
