Assam: Final photo voter list published in Sivasagar Electoral district

SIVASAGAR: The final photo voter list for the 95 Demow, 96 Sivasagar, and 97 Nazira Assembly constituencies in the Sivasagar electoral district was published on Monday.

The total number of voters in the Sivasagar electoral district is 5,69,695. Among them, there are 2,79,834 male voters, 2,89,857 female voters, and 4 third-gender voters. In the 95 Demow Assembly constituency, there are 87,832 male voters, 90,515 female voters, and 1 third-gender voter. In the 96 Sivasagar Assembly constituency, there are 1,03,258 male voters, 1,05,978 female voters, and 1 third-gender voter. In the 97 Nazira Assembly constituency, there are 88,744 male voters, 93,364 female voters, and 2 third-gender voters.

Notably, this year, 2,936 new voters have been added to the list. Additionally, to ensure a clean and transparent voter list, the names of deceased voters have been removed and those who requested permanent relocation have been updated.

According to the notification No. 508/AS/2024 issued by the Election Commission of India on July 24, 2024, the 97 Nazira Assembly constituency has been included in the Sivasagar electoral district. As a result, the number of polling stations in the Sivasagar electoral district has increased to 715. Currently, the 96 Sivasagar Assembly constituency has a total of 273 polling stations, the 95 Demow Assembly constituency has 214 polling stations, and the 97 Nazira Assembly constituency has 228 polling stations.

Voters can contact their local BLO, Circle Officer’s office or the Election Officer’s office for detailed information, as stated in a press release issued by the Election Officer, Sivasagar.
