Assam: Free Training Program On Making Papad, Pickle And Masala Held In Diphu

A 10-day free training program on the making of papad, pickle, and masala was held in Diphu, empowering women with valuable skills as part of the 76th Republic Day celebrations.

DIPHU: A ten-day training program on the making of papad, pickle, and masala powder was held from January 27 to February 5 at the SBI Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) building in Diphu Market, Karbi Anglong, Assam.

The event was organized by SBI-RSETI, Diphu, as part of the celebrations for the 76th Republic Day, with a focus on women empowerment. A total of 28 women participated in the training.

On the last day, participants received certificates for taking part. During the ceremony, the Director of SBI-RSETI, Dasarath Brahma, explained that the training was organized to celebrate the 76th Republic Day. He also shared that SBI runs 153 RSETI centers across India, providing different training programs for women.

"Each RSETI offers unique training opportunities, and here we focused on papad, pickle, and masala powder production. This 10-day training was completely free of charge, and it was a residential program, providing both food and lodging to the trainees. We hope that the skills and knowledge gained through this program will help the participants," Brahma said.

He also encouraged interested individuals to visit the RSETI office in Diphu, located on the top floor of the SBI Market Branch building, to learn about available training programs. The initiative is aimed at unemployed rural youth between the ages of 18 and 45 and is funded by the Ministry of Rural Development (MORD), Government of India. To benefit from the program, candidates are required to have an Aadhar card for biometric registration.
