KOKRAJHAR: Donna Subhalaxmi of Assam has earned fame by making a mark on the national stage by securing third position in the prestigious ‘Young Psychologist Competition’ held at Christ University, Bangalore (Central Campus).

Donna, a BSc Psychology student at Christ University, Yeshwantpur campus, competed against 140 research papers, with only 40 making it to the final round. Her team’s exceptional performance placed them among the top ten, earning them well-deserved recognition.

Hailing from a distinguished family of Sivasagar, Assam, Donna is the daughter of Dr Snigdha Chetia, who serves as Commandant (Medical) in the CRPF, and the granddaughter of Kritee awardee Late Kusum Chetia, a retired Principal from Namiti Chariali Girls’ High School. Late Kusum Chetia is the wife of Uma Kanta Chetia. This achievement is not only a moment of pride for Donna and her family but also an inspiration for the youths of Assam. Competing against participants from across various states of India, Donna’s success highlights her dedication, intellect and passion for psychology.

Her outstanding performance brings honour to Assam and sets an example for aspiring young psychologists in the region.
