Assam: Golden Pearl Tea Sold At Rs 99,999 Per Kg At GTAC

GUWAHATI: In an Auction event in GTAC, a special hand-crafted tea named Nahorchukbari Golden Pearl from the northeastern state of Assam has been sold at Rupees 99,999 per kilogram.

On Monday 14 February the unique tea went under the hammer at GTAC (Guwahati Tea Auction Centre) which is one of the busiest tea trading centers across the world.

The Nahorchukbari Golden Pearl tea was produced in a tea factory from the Dibrugarh district of Assam. It was presented to sell at the Guwahati Tea Auction Centre by Parcon India Private Limited.

The growers of the tea said about the special tea as 'Handcrafted to bring to the connoisseur in your delicate, floral character of select Assam Clones.'

The factory of Nahorchukbari is located in the Lahowal area close to the Dibrugarh Airport. The tea factory that produced the rare variety of tea is owned by AFT Techno Trades.

The Nahorchukbari tea factory was set up in the year 2018 by three partners in collaboration namely Aslam Khan, Alam Khan and Imran Khan. They are from Nahorchuk in Ekora Gaon located in Dikom.

These small tea growers wish to produce the best quality Assam tea from their team of small tea growers.

In fulfilling their dream they have very recently registered with the Tea Auction Centre in Guwahati and they will be soon selling their CTC teas at the auction with the same brand name as Golden Pearl.

One of the partners said that this was just the debut at the auction and they have achieved great success so they look forward to sending more teas in the Auction.

The selling of the Golden Pearl tea on Monday equalizes the record price that was set up at GTAC a few weeks ago by Manohari Tea Estate.

In the month of December 2021, the Manohari Gold was sold in the same Auction center of GTAC at Rupees 99,999 per kilogram which is the all-time high record price.

The tea was bought by Assam Tea Traders famous across the state for purchasing high-value special tea from Assam.
