KOKRAJHAR: A delegation of government officials and dignitaries from India and Bhutan on Tuesday visited the main water source of the Nonai Multi-Village Water Supply Scheme at Zalimukh, situated near the Indo-Bhutan border in BTR’s Udalguri district.
The team conducted a detailed inspection of the water source, assessing its capacity, quality, and infrastructure strategies for the catchment area. The visit aimed to evaluate the viability of the Zalimukh water source for sustaining the multi-village water supply scheme. The officials from both sides expressed optimism as the water flow rate appeared sufficient for the planned supply across villages. However, they emphasized the need for further analysis and strategic measures to ensure a sustainable and reliable water supply to the Udalguri district of Assam.
