SRIBHUMI: Assam Police has once again reinforced its commitment to border security by preventing an infiltration attempt along the Indo-Bangladesh border. Acting on intelligence inputs, security personnel nabbed two Bangladeshi nationals at Sribhumi while they were trying to enter India illegally. The individuals have been identified as Tasfia Rohaman Tuba and Anfatul Ohi.
Following protocol, the authorities questioned the two individuals before deporting them back to Bangladesh. Assam Police has been closely monitoring the border to stop illegal crossings and has reaffirmed its commitment to preventing unauthorized entries.
Meanwhile, earlier this month, in a swift and decisive action against illegal cross-border infiltration, Assam Police, under strict border surveillance, had nabbed a Bangladeshi national who had been trying to enter the state illegally. Identified as Rupa Sathi, the person had been quickly sent back, preventing the illegal entry into India.
Assam Police and border security agencies had stepped up their vigilance to foil illegal entry and protect the state's borders. In recent months, they had enhanced security at porous border points by using advanced monitoring methods and adding more personnel to spot and prevent illegal movement. Reaffirming Assam’s firm stance on the issue, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had stated, "Zero tolerance for illegal infiltration."
