Bongaigaon: An International Conference on "Indian Knowledge system for achieving sustainable development goals" started today at Bongaigaon. It is organized by Centre for Indian knowledge system of Bongaigaon college (upgraded to University of Bongaigaon).

Talking to press Bhabani Prasad Sarma, Associate Proffesor and Head of Political Science department of Bongaigaon college said that the program started with flag hoisting by Principal Dr Dinesh Das which is followed by tribute to the martyrs by Vice-Principal Mallika Khakhlary and thereafter felicitation programme conducted by Dr Karabi Saikia and Dr Parijat Dhar.

"Dr Rabindra Nath Das, Retired principal of KR B Girls College of Guwahati attended as chief guest whereas Tarani Kanta Ray, Retired principal of Ratnapeeth College was the Guest Of honour. Initially welcome speech given by Principal Dr Dinesh Das. The Key note speaker of the conference was Prof. Xavier P Mao, Proffesor of Philosophy, NEHU, Shillong , Meghalay and invited speakers were Prof. MTM Mahees, Proffesor of Sociology, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. Among the other invited chairpersons were Prof. MGTS Amarasekara, Rajarata University, Sri Lanka, Prif. Sanjib Mehta from Royal University of Bhutan, Prof. Kushum Shakya, Tribhuban University, Nepal, Prof. Yogesh Ranjit, Tribhuban University, Nepal, Dr. Purabi Baisya from Guwahati University, Dr Moyuri Sarma from Guwahati University, Dr. Dimpi Mahanta from Cotton University and Dr Parag Barman from Bhattadev University, Bajali. The two-day long conference will continue to 25th January," Sarma added.
