NAGAON: Like every year, this year too, the students who scored excellent results in the Matriculation and Higher Secondary Examinations 2025, were honoured with the Late Budharmal Khetawat Smriti Samman by the JB Industries family in the Lions Club auditorium on Saturday evening.
On this occasion, the Principal of PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya, Apurba Das, who attended as the chief guest in the packed auditorium, inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp amid the Deep Mantra. The guests paid floral tribute to the portrait of Late Budharmal Khetawat amid the song Naam Ghosha by Hemanta Bardalai.
The guest of honour was District Program Officer of Education Department Shruti Mala Gayan, while Vice-Principal of Morigaon College Dr Dhananjay Kusre, educationist and retired Head of Geography Department of Nagaon College Nava Kumar Mahanta, Secretary of Nagaon Bar Association Advocate Jayant Bardalai, EM of Tai Ahom Council Rinku Bora, Headmaster of Marwari Hindi High School Kishore Dev, social workers Om Prakash Jajodia and Binod Khetawat, senior journalist Kanak Hazarika were present on the stage.
All the guests present on the stage were honoured with a phulam gamucha. Private Teacher Nitin Khetawat was honoured with a letter of felicitation and Apurv Das was honoured with a letter of felicitation for his excellent service in the field of education.
In the welcome speech, under the management of the stage by Senior Journalist Ajay Mahato, Social Worker Binod Khetawat heartily welcomed all on behalf of the JB Industries family to the programme and congratulated all the students. “My father Late Budharmal Khetawat was a person aware of education and his only wish was that the standard of education should increase in the society. Today is the occasion that we are moving forward on the path shown by him. Through this felicitation ceremony, every student should get the inspiration to move forward. Education is the basic foundation of life,” he said.
In this felicitation ceremony, Educationist Nava Kumar Mahanta, District Program Officer Shruti Mala Gayan, Vice-Principal of Morigaon Mahavidyalaya Dr Dhananjay Kusre, Journalist Kanak Hazarika, Safikur Rahman, Marwari Hindi High School Headmaster Kishore Dev, Om Prakash Jajodia and other speakers elaborately threw light on the importance of education in life.
In his speech, the chief guest, Apurva Das, said that we should become good citizens and by understanding the importance of time and by properly utilizing the precious time of student life, our future will be golden. It is noteworthy that forty students who passed the Matriculation and Higher Secondary Examination of PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya, Marwari Hindi High School and other schools with excellent results were honoured by presenting them a memento of a flowered towel and a congratulatory letter, due to which the students were very happy.
