KOKRAJHAR: In a significant step towards eliminating Tuberculosis (TB) in India, Nikshay Sibir was organized in Kokrajhar district under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. Aligned with the Government of India’s goal to end TB by 2025, the initiative aimed to raise awareness, strengthen community participation and enhance collaborative efforts to combat the disease.
Under this programme, individuals and organizations have been registered as Nikshay Mitras, taking on the responsibility of providing nutritional support to adopt TB patients. Kokrajhar DC, Masanda M Pertin, graced the event and distributed certificates to the Nikshay Mitras in recognition of their commitment to support TB patients.
In this connection, DC, Kokrajhar also extended special thanks to NTPC, Bongaigaon and IOCL, Bongaigaon Refinery for their wholehearted support to provide nutritional support to 450 TB patients of Kokrajhar district.
The Nikshay Sibirin Kokrajhar served as a platform for healthcare professionals, community leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to collaborate and reinforce their commitment to a TB-free India.
