Assam Minorities Development Board Distributes E-Rickshaws In Dibrugarh

As part of the Assam Minorities Development Board's initiative for the fiscal year 2023–2024, seven e-rickshaws were distributed yesterday near the District Development office in Dibrugarh.

DIBRUGARH: As part of the Assam Minorities Development Board's initiative for the fiscal year 2023–2024, seven e-rickshaws were distributed on February 21, near the District Development office in Dibrugarh.

Rahan Ahmed, the president of the Dibrugarh District Minority Morcha, handed over the e-rickshaws in the presence of Ward Councillor Srimanta Baruah and other attendees.

The initiative, which was implemented under the State-Owned Priority Development (SOPD) program, aimed to offer minority communities resources and financial support.

Meanwhile, the Sonitpur District Administration held a ceremonial distribution of CM’s gifts at the District Commissioner’s Office, where 56 government-recognized journalists received tokens of appreciation from Assam's Chief Minister.

The event was presided over by District Commissioner Ankur Bharali, with the inaugural address by District Information & Public Relations Officer Ankita Gogoi.

In his speech, the District Commissioner acknowledged journalists' vital role as the fourth pillar of democracy, appreciating their contributions to society and government programs. The ceremony was attended by officials from the District Commissioner’s Office and the District Information & Public Relations Office.

Additionally, a total of 26 government-recognized journalists from Kokrajhar district were also honored with goodwill gifts sent by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The ceremony took place at the District Commissioner’s conference hall, where Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner Masanda Magdalin Pertin presented the gifts on behalf of the Chief Minister. Organized by the Public Relations department, the event aimed to recognize journalists' contributions.
