Barpeta: The Mock Gunotsav program, organized by the Education Department of Barpeta district, concluded with remarkable success on Tuesday in the schools of  Barpeta and Bajali districts. This preparatory initiative, conducted from December 19 to December 24, was designed to gear up for Gunotsav 2025 under the guidance of IS-cum-DEEO Ratul Kumar Das and led by Barpeta Education Block’s BRP, Chandan Kumar Das.

The programme encompassed 2,058 schools and impacted 230,844 students, with the support of 2,058 external evaluators and 238 liaison officers. To ensure seamless execution, committees at district and block levels were formed, with Sitanga Deka, DPO (Teacher Training), and Niranjan Ojha, DPO (Community Participation), serving as member secretaries of the district-level committee. Chandan Kumar Das, serving as coordinator, shouldered the primary responsibility for managing the programme.

External evaluator Papari  Talukdar, who evaluated 1492 No. Keteki Lower Primary School, shared her experience, praising the systematic organization and its impact on students’ academic and non-academic development. She commended IS-cum-DEEO Ratul Kumar Das and coordinator Chandan Kumar Das for their leadership in successfully executing such an ambitious program.

A standout feature of this year’s Mock Gunotsav was the introduction of the “Sameeksha” app, developed by Prasenjit Sarma, Barpeta Education Block’s Block Resource Person. This innovative app allowed external evaluators to submit school data online, ensuring accurate and efficient reporting. Sarma, nationally recognized for developing several AI-driven educational apps, highlighted how challenges during implementation were resolved efficiently under the dynamic leadership of coordinator cum BRP  Chandan Kumar Das. Das not only prepared the entire Mock Gunotsav framework but also personally designed multilingual question papers, reflecting his unwavering commitment and leadership. The Mock Gunotsav has set a benchmark for systematic execution and innovative practices, offering valuable insights for improving student performance in the upcoming Gunotsav.
