BOKAKHAT: The golden jubilee closing ceremony of Naharjan High School in Bokakhat will be held on May 24 and 25. Established in 1975, the school will celebrate the conclusion of its 50th anniversary with a grand event. Local dignitaries and the state’s Cabinet Minister Atul Bora will be present at the function to be held in the school premises.

The Headmaster of the school, along with the school’s management committee, has informed that elaborate arrangements have been made for the event. Several awareness programmes have also been planned. Students from class 9 and 10 will take part in discussions and interactive sessions as part of the event.

According to the schedule, on May 24, the day would begin at 5am with a flag hoisting ceremony, followed by the hoisting of the main jubilee flag at 8am and planting of 50 saplings. From 8:30am, a memory wall would be inaugurated, followed by a tribute to past contributors. From 9:30am, a science exhibition will be inaugurated. At 11am, a cultural procession and a discussion session titled ‘Students, Teachers and Social Responsibility’ will be held with invited dignitaries, teachers and local personalities. A memorial souvenir will be released at 1pm. At 2 PM, a seminar for former and current teachers is to be held, followed by an alumni meet at 5pm. On the second day, the event will include a cleanliness drive, followed by a cultural evening starting from 3pm.

The golden jubilee closing ceremony is expected to be a grand success with the support of local residents and former students.
