NAGAON: A two-day nature camp was successfully concluded at Hatibandhu Camp, Bagheghaiti, Chapanala in Nagaon district on Wednesday. The camp was organized by the Assam Science, Technology and Environment Council in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, and managed by the nationally-acclaimed voluntary organization Gram Vikas Parishad.
In the inaugural session of the camp, noted Hatibandhu and nature lover Binod Dulu Bora, noted wildlife researcher Chiranjib Borah, forest official AK Najmul Ahmed, and others were present and guided the participants.
The camp aimed to foster a harmonious relationship between humans and nature. Over forty students from ten schools across the district participated in the camp, which covered various aspects of nature conservation, wildlife protection, biodiversity conservation, bird watching, and photography.
The camp included sessions on Wildlife Conservation and Management, Biodiversity Conservation, Bird Watching, Protected Areas, Wildlife and Environment, Photography. The camp also featured documentary screenings and forest visits, providing participants with hands-on experience and exposure to nature.
The nature camp emphasized the importance of coexisting with nature and wildlife. Participants gained valuable knowledge and insights into conservation efforts and the role they can play in protecting the environment.
The camp concluded on April 23 with a ceremony where participants and resource persons were felicitated with certificates. The organizers, Gram Vikas Parishad, expressed gratitude to the participants and resource persons and sought their continued support in promoting nature conservation efforts.
