Assam: Noted educationist, social worker Nripen Hazarika passes away

Nripen Hazarika, ex-Vice Principal of GHII, Sivasagar, passed away at 67 due to heart failure on Monday night; mourned by many.

GAURISAGAR: Nripen Hazarika, ex-Vice Principal of GHII, Sivasagar, passed away at 67 due to heart failure on Monday night; mourned by many.

Born in Bhatiapar, Hazarika was the son of Phani Hazarika, the Late former Teacher of GHII. His sudden demise cast a pall of gloom in the Gaurisagar and Bhatiapar area. Late Hazarika got superannuation in 2018 .Since his retirement, he was involved with Sankardev Bidya Mandir, one of the private educational institutions in Gaurisagar area, for a long time and served as the President of the Management Committee till his death.

Hazarika was known as a good actor. Before cremation, a shraddhanjali function was held and it was anchored by Jibon Krishna Goswami. Various organizations like Gaurisagar Higher Secondary Industrial Institute, Srimanta Sankardev Sangha Dikhowmukh Regional and Gaurisagar Primary Committee, Sankardev Bidyamandir Gaurisagar, Gaurisagar High School, Gaurisagar Senior Citizens Forum, Asom Natya Sanmilan Gaurisagar Branch, among others, paid floral tributes to his body. Besides his colleagues, retired principals of Gaurisagar Higher Secondary Industrial Institute Dilip Kumar Neog and Rukheshwar Gogoi, retired subject Teacher Hemanta Nath, and other well-wishers paid their last respects. Hazarika is survived by his wife, a son, a daughter, a brother and other relatives.
